As a major system supplier to the automotive industry, ZF has extensive experience in developing and integrating ECUs into the vehicle network for a large number of customers. Due to the new challenges of software-defined vehicles with a modular service-oriented architecture and frequent over-the-air software updates, architectural standards for the development environment as well as for the on-board and off-board software are becoming a success factor for the efficient execution of projects in cross-company collaboration. ZF is working on the joint development of the non-differentiating content in an Open Source Code First approach with the goal of implementing the results in series projects in a safety and security-relevant context.
