In June 2024 relevant stakeholders of the automotive industry (OEMs and Tier-n suppliers) and the European Commission have agreed on a declaration for a “Collaboration on a European Software-defined Vehicle of the Future (SDVoF) Ecosystem”.

This pre-competitive collaboration aims to tackle the challenge of the increase of software complexity through new development processes, also using open source approaches.
